*International Organisations

The UK International Organisations Act 2005 covers a number of bodies whose status as international organisations might be uncertain without this legislation. Its coverage includes the Commonwealth Secretariat/Commonwealth Secretariat Arbitral Tribunal, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), certain bodies established under the Treaty on European Union, the International Criminal Court (ICC), the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). Explanatory notes prepared by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office provide a helpful guide.
