9. Speak on the role of advertising in selling products. What are the 4 ways in which advertising can work? Think how to advertise jeans and a washing machine.Advertisement brings the product to the public's attention.and advertisement gives information about product's features or characteristics; advertisement gives us information about the most shyniest sight of the product. Advertising works in 4 ways.they are: the first is inform.the second is persuade.the third is remind and the forth is motivate. Now i'll tell some words about each of ' them.Advertising must inform ppl about new product, about its advantages about its price and so forth, and of course good advertising must persuade ppl to buy only this product, then advertising must remind to a customer about the product everywhere in the street,in the bus and so on,and the last point is that advertising must motivate ppl to buy this product to say in another way we must make a consumer to buy.sometimes it is very difficult because a consumer doesn't like to be under a pressure.lf i want to advertise jeans,i'll begin with informing its good sights.than i'll tell about its features, then i'll tell that u won't be able to find these jeans elsewhere cheaper than here, and at last i'll say that if u buy these jeans right now.i'll give good warranty and i'll make discount only for u.
10. You're a personnel manager of some company. You have got one vacancy but 2 equally-qualified candidates: a male and a female. Whom will you choose? Explain your choice.Men and women do the same things differently; they achieve their aims by different ways. So I'll try to compare women and a man's working style. So, the male approach to business is competitive, direct and confrontational, while the female method is collaborative. What concerns tackling problems, the male approach is to go to the heart of the problem, without taking into account secondary considerations, whereas the female preference is to look at various options. Men like to talk about their personal experiences and achievements or discuss topics such as cars or sport, while women tend to talk about staff problems and personnel matters. Men find it easy to tell others about their successes, and women tend to share or pass on the credit for a success. So 1 want to conclude that it doesn't matter for me, who will work with me, but nevertheless i'll prefer a man.
11. You want to make Christmas presents to the members of your family. Speak about goods different shops can offer. Which ones would you choose? Give reasons for your choice. There are many shops in Minsk, and each of them has smth special, smth unique. Some shops can offer white goods, some offer electronics, some clothes, some mementos and so forth. I want to stop and describe shops that sell mementos. To my mind souvenir is one of the best thing that child can present to his parents, because child must only show the sign of care, and nothing more. Such present rather cheap and leaves a lot of good emotions and remembrance, because we never throw away such present.
13. Take some products and speak of their USPs. Which one would you consider while shopping? Why?USPs - unique selling points — are the things that make a product special and different from other similar products.Let's examine such product as CD-player, no battery solar watch and Dyson vacuum cleaner.USPs of Cd-player are its compactness, good design and its power consumption is very small, because this CD-player needs only 2 small batteries,it has big programmable memory and random play. What concerns no battery solar watch it is one of the models of modem production.using solar energy it can be used for a very long period, if it threats carefully,of course it costs very much, but to my mind.price says about it reliability.Dyson vacuum cleaner has innovative stylish, reliable and at the same time it works very well.it helps helps ppl in battle with dust and at the same time it can bring satisfaction to its owner.(2) For nearly every kind of product there are many similar goods in the market. The USPs of a product are the things that make it special and differing from other similar products. While shopping I meet a wide range of products. But I have to buy only one from plenty of similar goods. So how do I choose the product I need? What things do I pay attention to when I stay behind the counter and thinking of my further buying. For instance when I was going to buy a camera I was looking mainly at its functionality. The quantity of pixels played a great role. Then a very important part was an optical zoom to take a photo from long distance. What else? There were plenty of things: video shooting, memory and many others. So 1 bought a camera with a great USP — the best lenses of all cameras in that price range. I have made my choise successfully and I don't regret about buying my camera although it took a lot of time.
14. Compare the history of 2-3 famous companies. What is common? In what do they differ? Which of the companies would you like to work for and why? I want to compare 2 companies such as Ford and Mark and Spencer. In the spring of 1896 engineer Henry Ford built his first horseless i carriage, in 1903 Ford formed the Ford motor company, in 1911 Ford's first assembly plant, in 1931 the first model AAtruck rolled off the line. Now i'll tell some words about M&S. In 1894 Michael Marks and Tom Spencer formed a partnership, in 1928 they registered the St Michael trademark, in 1930 the company opened the Marble Arch store on Oxford street in London, in 1931 they introduced canned goods such as tomato soup. Their stores are in Paris, Brussel, Hong Kong and London; in 1997 they won the queen's award for Export Achievement for the fifth time. So, as for me 1 would like to work for Ford, because I'm fond of cars and I'll enjoy my work very much, and by the way Ford is much richer than M&S and I think, that my salary will be rather big.
15. Speak on the main reasons people don't like shopping. What can retailers do about these problems in your opinion? Dou like shopping? As for me i tike shopping because i can't imagine my life without goods. But at the same i as evrebody don't like it,because of a lot of facts. The first reason that ppl don't like shoping is staying in queues.1 absolutely agree with this statement because at shop we must buy what we really need.and we mustn't vaste our precious time, the retailer must place much more checkout counters or smth like that, because it is the main problem of shopping.lf we look at the statistics we will see that 42% of ppl don't like shoping because of queues. The next main reason is crowds, near 18% of ppl don't like shopping because of it.lt is awful when u try to choise smth at the shop while a crowd of ppl trying to do the same, they become arguing and it is bad.To solve this problem retailer must install more counters and i think there evrth will be all right. The next reason is finding products, near 8% of ppl don't like it.Of course if a shop is very big it is difficult to find neccessary thing. The solution of this problem is to invent a lot of signs(указатель). The next point is Parking, near 7% of asked ppl chose this pointl think if a retailer has a big shop he must think of places for the cars.Next i'll itemize all points because they r not main they r only exist. The fifth is not enough time, next is carrying it,next is inconvenient opening hours, next is cost and the last is packing and unpacking goods.
16.Explain what customer loyalty means. Are you a loyal customer? Why, why not? What are your criteria of choosing a product Customer loyalty it is a situation when customer buys goods only of one brand. He does it because he likes this brand and he can always rely on it. I can't say that I'm a loyal customer, but on the one hand I like every products of Samsung. I think that it is reliable company and I trust very much. On the other hand, I like every brand that exists on the market. I think it is stupid to say, that this product is bad because I don't know such a company, as for me, before buying product I look at its benefits, characteristics and price. Often a product of a famous company is much expensive than product of unknown company. But also, unknown company doesn't make any warranty while a warranty of a famous company is very big. So it is up to you to decide to be a loyal customer or not.
