Course structure

Four tourism specific units build on the four general management units, which include marketing, financing, human resource management, strategic management.

Global tourism management

Tourism is increasingly being drawn into global arenas. While this trend is affected by general factors shaping the world economy, it is also influenced by more specific globalising forces, notably increases in long-haul travel, developments in inclusive package tour operations and the growth of translational tourism businesses. The global industry has to adapt its strategies to meet at the local level. This unit develops understanding of globalisation in tourism and to consider related management issues through an examination of the packaging of international destinations by the holiday industry.
