Direction out of destination after movement

We ran out of the building and then we were out of the building

Outside can replace out of when we refer to e.g. rooms, buildings-We were outsidethe building But outside and out of are not always interchangeable [> App 25.31]

Within, to mean 'inside', can occur in a few limited and formal contexts:

Everyone withinthe London area was affected by the bus strike Without, to mean 'outside', is now archaic.

with difficulty' [compare > 12.13.1]:
