Effort Options

When creating efforts, you have an array of various effort options to help build and customize all marketing arrangements.

As you enter effort information, the effort options selections will change according to options available given your selections.

For example, when creating a dedicated effort, as soon as you select Dedicated from the Effort Type drop-down menu and an applicable Version name the effort option Lift Note Only appears. But if other Effort Types are chosen, Lift Note Only disappears.

By selecting the box next to the effort option you wish to use you will be enabling that option. If the box is left unchecked, that option is disabled and will not be used in the promotional sequence.

Below is a complete list of effort options and definitions. These options are found at the bottom of the create or edit effort page:

Row Color: gives the effort a colored flag to better identify and organize it within the schedule screens. After selection, a new field will appear that allows you to select the color you wish to use.

Testing Group: allows you to create testing groups that will both categorize and organize marketing test efforts and/or group special efforts together for easy access. See Chapter 6 – Testing Group for more specific details.

Vanity URL: allows you to create a vanity redirect for any promotion. The vanity URLs that are available to use within IRIS can be accessed through the Options menu (lower left-hand corner of the screen).

Life Note Only: when activated displays the lift note only in the dedicated mailing. If un-selected, when users select the call to action link from the dedicated email the lift note will also carry over and display at the top the promotion.

Order Form Only: when activated, will by-pass the primary content or promotional step and take customers straight to the Opium order form. When selected, the row color YELLOW defaults to better display which efforts are order forms and which efforts are promotions on the schedule screens.

Recurring: allows you to create a recurring effort that will create automatically based on a recurrence pattern you establish on the original effort. When the recurrence occurs, you will receive an email that alerts you to the effort(s) with a link that directs you to the My Queue screen for final edits and processing. See Chapter 6 – Recurring Efforts for more information.

Abandon Email: available for all promotions that have Abandon Email content entered into the system. When activated you can select an email creative that will send to a list of customers who abandoned the promotional process before subscribing to the offered item.

Redirect to Order Form: gives you the opportunity to redirect from the promotional page exit pop to the order form instead of a back-up HTML page. When selected the row color will default to purple. See Chapter 6 – Redirect to Order Form for more specific instructions.

URL Fix: this effort is permission based and allows users that have the URL Fix permission to quickly enter a redirect url for any effort. This would come in handy if a mailing was sent with the wrong promotional link and you quickly wanted to force users you hit that link to a different promotion.

Opens Pixel: tracks external mailing and open data for internal promotions automatically. See the Opens Pixel section for more details.

External Pixel: a blank field that when selected allows you to enter an external partner’s tracking pixel that they wish to use on our promotions to collect in-house traffic data.

Notes: free form field that allows you to enter any relevant “FYI” notes that will be visible to all users who view that particular effort.
