Debate Consideration or examination by argument, comment, etc., esp. to explore solutions; consideration of a question in open and usually informal debate.
Discussion A conversational exchange between two or more people, it supports the processes of creating, sharing, integrating, and evaluating knowledge. It is intended to be open and power-neutral communication.
Dialogue A formal method of interactive and representational argument, the aim of which is to increase either party’s awareness or understanding. In this type of conversation one side often prevails over the other side by presenting a superior “context” and/or framework of the issue, which is far more subtle and strategic.
