AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

 

The Training Course “ Creative Minds ” aims to educate young leaders and youth facilitators coming from rural area in creative education and education through creativity. Participants will be introduced into the creativity aspects by exploring the connection of the creative process (creativity mechanisms and phases), the creative person (traits and characteristics) and the creative product (practical application). They will learn about creative problem solving as a personal and leadership skill and the use of creativity in non formal education concept. Participants will learn to find fresh and innovative solution to problems, and identify opportunities to improve the way that we do things. The training will have a very practical approach by exercising each explored domain and putting in action the learned things. Youth in Action programme will be presented and participants will be able to follow up their ideas and cooperation by implementing other youth projects based on participants and social local needs.

 

Project Objectives:

- To explore the understanding of creative education and education through creativity

- To introduce participants to the creativity concept, process and mechanism and the way to utilize it.

- To experience the creativity tools in field of problem solving and leadership skills

- To put in practice the creative tools in non-formal education and youth work

- To develop project ideas in frame of Youth in Action programme.

 

PROJECT BACKGROUND

 

The training course is a result of participants needs to increase their creative thinking for solution finding, creative personality and developing their abilities as facilitators in rural youth work.

 

In order to create an efficient learning environment and foster the cooperation among the group members will be run “getting to know each other”, team building, team dynamic and presentation activities. All of them will have creativity principle on the base.

 

Participants will explore the aspects of creativity as creative process, creative person and creative product. This information will help them to understand that a creative person is not born but self-made and there are some techniques to help them to develop these abilities. Further participants will find out about the creative problem solving with a very practical input as shared experience and case studies. In order to develop their personal and professional abilities participants will explore the creative thinking and its use in non formal education and youth work. Participants will put in action their abilities by running concrete sessions with new developed non formal education activities.

 

YiA will be presented and participants will be invited to develop project ideas to be further implemented as a result of group cooperation. They will be introduced to the possibilities offered by the programe, the objectives and priorities, the actions and the EaP.

 

The working methods will be based on experiential learning, learning by doing and peer to peer education that will provide participants new experiences and challenges allowing the strengthen of personal skills, knowledge and values. The methodology will be based on the mutual cooperation between participants from different backgrounds and settings, invited them at exchanging proposals and working methods contributing to the European debate on validation and certification of non formal learning.

 

 

TARGET GROUP

 

We ask promoters to nominate 18+ youth leaders or youth workers, motivated to work with young with rural youth and interested to have been trained to run creative activities with their target groups.

Good command of English is essential.

VISAS

 

 

Those who require visas (participants from Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine and Russia) must email us your: scan of your passport or passport details (number, expiry date, issue date, issuing country, place and organisation), full home address, full name as in the passport. Also please make inquiry at the British Embassy in your country regarding the visa application process and what documents you have to submit. Make sure you have a valid passport and check UK immigration requirements http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/visiting/

 

We normally issue an invitation letter for our participants which you would need to send to the embassy with your visa application. It takes time to complete papers and to send them to you, so please send us all details for visa by 25th March or the early the better.

Mind that you cannot arrive after the project starting date and departure earlier of the project departure date!

ACCOMMODATION

You will be accommodated in a hotel in triple/ twin rooms.

 

Check in from 3pm. I should be there at the reception to meet you on your arrival, so please confirm with me the time of your arrival.

DIRECTIONS TO THE TRAVELODGE HOTEL

 

If you arrive on coach or a bus you should take The Rushes bus stop in Loughborough. From there you will need to go towards a bright building which you will see on the opposite side of the rode in a little distance – one of the building of that bright complex is your hotel – Travelodge. Take the entrance and stairs or lift to the reception.

 

If you arrive by train you can walk from the station. It is about 16 minutes walk - see https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl . Or you can take a bus to the town centre and get off at the Rushes bus stop.

 

You can always tell the bus driver where you need to get and ask where it is best to get off! Or show them the picture of the hotel on this info pack.

 

PROJECT VENUE

 

The Training Course Creative Minds will start with a welcoming evening at 6.30 pm on 31st May with the welcoming meal.

 

 

We all be meeting on the level of the reception at the Travelodge hotel at 6:30pm and will walk together to the first venue. Please make sure that you are on time!

From day two till the end of the programme we will start a day from the breakfast at the Fearon Hall in Rectory Road which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast will start at 8.30 am and will be finished by 9.30 am when the first session will start. All sessions on this day will be in this venue.

We will also have the intercultural evening there in the evening of the second day. We have kitchen in the community centre, so if you would like to cook something for the Intercultural night please contact organisers and make sure you bring specific ingredients if needed. We can also allow time during the day to make shopping – the supermarket is in 5 min walk from the centre to buy fresh ingredients you might need for your cooking. Please bear in mind we cannot reimburse these costs but normally it does not get more than £15.

 

INSURANCE

 

You would not travel without a valid ticket, right? So why would you travel without valid insurance?!

Insurance will not be reimbursed but we STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN UP TO DATE ONE!!!!

 

The organisation will not be able to reimburse you for any losses. Also medical care (in case needed) is rather expensive in the UK.

 

FOOD ARRANGEMENTS

 

We will have first evening meal on 31st May in the nearby restaurant. We will walk together to the venue. Please ensure that you meet the group at 6:30pm on the level of the reception of the Travelodge hotel. Your first breakfasts, lunch and dinner will be served at Fearon Hall (see above the link to the first venue of the event or in the local eatery places). We will try to cover range of traditional British cusines to allow you to have a great intercultural learning experience.

 

There will also be two coffee breaks during the training day.

 

!!! Please, let us know in advance (in the application form attached) whether you have any special dietary requirements such as halal meat, vegetarian, no meat but ok with fish, any diets, allergic to something etc !!!

 

 


 

REIMBURSEMENT

 

 

IMPORTANT! We will reimburse 70% of your actualtravel costs - subject to submission of travel forms and original travel documents, including boarding passes, receipts and ALL return documents.

 

We will not be able to send the reimbursement after the project, so you must purchase ALL tickets in advance!!! and have the originals with you on arrival* (the returns for UK travel could be purchased from on the second day of the event, we will have access to internet, but it would be better if you buy tickets before your arrival)
