TASK 1. Are you an attentive reader? Read the summary of lesson 6 and find 9 factual mistakes in it. Correct the mistakes.
Brown and Adams worked on a tea plantation a good way off from the hills. They got the mail at long intervals. Adams usually got a couple of letters by every mail, but Brown never got one. He was eager to get as many letters as Adams and used to watch him enviously as he started to read his letters. One day an idea came to his head to buy a letter from Adams. At first Adams didn't agree to sell a letter but then he chose one and handed it to Brown. They usually spent evenings drinking whisky. Adams asked Brown what the letter was about but Brown refused to answer. They had a long argument but Brown stood on his rights. Adams couldn't stand it and one day he followed Brown into his office and offered to pay twice as much money for the letter. But it didn't help. Brown said he had paid for the letter and he meant to keep it. In fact this story has the wrong kind of end!
